WHe joined the Navy in April 1944 at the age of 33. He trained at the Great Lakes Naval Station. Late May 1944 he completed training and visited his father and friends here in Lawrenceburg and returned to duty June 1st. On his draft registration card in 1940 it says his height was 5 10 Weight 190 Complexion Light Hair Color Brown Eye Color Gray. He worked as a shoe maker for the Red Cross shoe factor in Harrison OH, formerly in Newtown Lburg, later became US Shoeilliam died of pneumonia and respiratory distress. |
