Graduated from University School of Medicine in Louisville in 1941 and interned at Tacoma (Wash) General Hospital. Served in U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946 as a flight surgeon. Stationed in the Aleutian Islands with the 18th Fighter Squadron of the 343rd fighter group in the 10th Air Force. Continued in the army reserves until 1959. Entered into private practice in 1946 with the Whitlatch Clinic, and continued his Milan family practice until 1979. Member of the Milan United Methodist Church, the Lakeside Country Club, the AMA, ISMA and Ripley County Medical Society. Served on the Milan town board from 1947 to 1953. Charter member of the Milan Lions Club. Served as Ripley County health officer from 1978 to 1984 and was a member of the Ripley County Board of Health. Served on the board of directors for the Area 12 Council on Aging for 9 years and was presently serving as professional chairman for the Ripley County Cancer Society. Honorary member of the Milan Fire Department and belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and American Legion of Milan. Married Glada Whitlatch on June 16, 1936. Preceded in death by one. brother and one sister. Died in University Hospital, Cincinnati, Oh. Funeral June 26, Milan United Methodist Church, Milan, In. where she was a member. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements, Milan, IN. Army Air Force veteran. |
