Other: 100 years and five months of age, died in Port Tabacco, MD, at the home of her son. Born on her family's farm in Kyle, IN, seventh of Christian and Caroline Borgman's nine children. Grew up during the depression and graduated from Aurora High School just as WW II was beginning. Gus married Elmer Zimmer June 5, 1937. Because of Elmer's special training in farming, they were assigned to operate a large farm near Greensburg, IN. After the war, they settled in Lawrenceburg, IN where they raised children Don and JoAnn. Loved a rich and full marriage for almost 75 years, until Elmer's passing on April 25, 2012. Enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in commercial photograph sales at Krider's Studio in Lawrenceburg; supported Elmer's activities in the Lions Club; served on the Lawrenceburg school board. Retired in 1982 and spent retirement deepening community ties and traveling the country to family in California and Maryland. Joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Greendale, IN in 1945. Moved from Indiana to Maryland at the age of 96 to live with Don and his wife, Sherie. Memorial service was held in Maryland on February 22 at Peace Lutheran Church, Waldorf, and on April 14 at the former Bethlehem Lutheran Church, now known as Firmly Rooted Ministries.
